As Kat is the first to say, “Summer is not the time to be planting outdoor plants!” – especially not here in Tauranga. That is why our nursery closes each year from the end of December through to the end of February.
This means we can ensure our seedlings and plants are getting all the water and care they need through the dry season to be fresh and gorgeous for you when we reopen in March 2025!
That doesn’t mean that Kat and her trusty Kereru Gardens helpers are off having a lovely siesta for two months. Oh no such luck! Instead, Kat will be focusing on her indoor plant business and passion project, Bay Botanics.
Bay Botanics is home to over 50 wonderful varieties of indoor plants. From small pot plants that love a shady, quiet spot in a corner to plants that will soon outgrow their little space to become large impressive plants and a stunning feature in your lounge or entrance area.
Kat will guide you on the best place to start with your indoor plants or give you advice on the perfect plant for the space you are wanting to fill.
Keep an eye out for our repotting workshops happening in February and March 2025 where you can learn to repot your indoor plants as they outgrow their original containers.
