Growing Greener Schools with Paper4Trees BOP!
Here at Kereru Gardens, we’re not just about growing plants — we’re about helping people be confident gardeners. That’s why we’re so proud to be the preferred supplier of locally grown trees for the amazing Paper4Trees programme in the Bay of Plenty region!
If you haven’t heard of Paper4Trees yet, prepare to fall in love. This brilliant initiative rewards schools and preschools for recycling their paper and cardboard by giving them native trees to plant. That’s right — recycling = reforesting. How cool is that?
And guess what? We get to be part of that leafy magic.
This year, we had the honour of boxing up individual tree orders for every school involved in our patch of paradise. It was a true team effort – each box packed with care and a sprinkle of dirt-loving joy. Here's what we delivered:
🌳 Rotorua Schools – 800 trees!
🌳 Tauranga Schools – a whopping 1,075 trees!
🌳 Western Bay of Plenty Schools – 425 beautiful baby trees!
That’s 2,300 native trees getting their roots down in our local schools! Can we get a heck yeah for habitat restoration?!
We LOVE seeing young hands getting dirty, learning about the environment, and planting trees that will grow alongside them. And we’re super proud to support a programme that connects recycling, education, and environmental restoration in such a down-to-earth (literally!) way.
Want to get your school, preschool or community involved? Head over to www.paper4trees.co.nz and join the green team!
And if you ever wondered where those Paper4Trees plants come from… yep, it’s us — grown locally with love at Kereru Gardens.
Happy planting, tree-huggers!
